چکیده
In the current work, a fully implicit numerical integration scheme is developed for modeling twinning-induced plasticity using crystal framework. Firstly, constitutive formulation of twin-based micromechanical model presented to estimate deformation behavior steels with low stacking fault energy. Secondly, discretizing equations through time backward Euler method. A sub-stepping algorithm and two-norm convergence criterion are used regulate step size stopping criterion. Afterward, implemented in finite element software ABAQUS as user-defined material subroutine. Finally, simulations executed observing validity, performance, limitations scheme. It observed that simulation results good agreement experimental observations maximum error 16% case equivalent stress strain. also found able well behavior, magnitude slip twin shear strains, volume fraction three different TWIP where point subjected tension compression.

Finite element analysis of geometrically necessary dislocations in crystal plasticity
We present a finite element method for the analysis of ductile crystals whose energy depends on the density of geometrically necessary dislocations (GNDs). We specifically focus on models in which the energy of the GNDs is assumed to be proportional to the total variation of the slip strains. In particular, the GND energy is homogeneous of degree one in the slip strains. Such models indeed aris...
متن کاملCoupling Nonlinear Element Free Galerkin and Linear Galerkin Finite Volume Solver for 2D Modeling of Local Plasticity in Structural Material
This paper introduces a computational strategy to collaboratively develop the Galerkin Finite Volume Method (GFVM) as one of the most straightforward and efficient explicit numerical methods to solve structural problems encountering material nonlinearity in a small limited area, while the remainder of the domain represents a linear elastic behavior. In this regard, the Element Free Galerkin met...
متن کاملA Centroidal Voronoi Tessellation Based Approach for Creating Grain Morphology for Crystal Plasticity Finite Element Simulations
A simple approach based on centroidal Voronoi tessellation (CVT) is proposed here to create three-dimensional microstructures, for crystal plasticity finite element (CPFE) simulations. In the proposed approach, the grain morphology for any given specimen geometry is created with a predetermined grain size. Instead of using the conventional way that generates the Voronoi cells first and then mes...

Crystal plasticity simulations using nearest neighbor orientation correlation function
A probabilistic scheme is presented for simulating evolution of polycrystalline microstructures during deformation. Microstructure images are described using a compact descriptor called the nearest–neighbor conditional orientation correlation function, defined as the probability density of occurrence of a crystal orientation at one pixel distance from a known orientation. The neighborhood infor...
